What to do if QR code is too small?
Updated over a month ago

If a QR code is too small, it might affect its scannability, resulting in fewer scans you receive. Therefore, it is necessary to resize the QR code. To ensure scannability on most smartphones, the QR code must be at least 2 x 2cm (0.8 x 0.8in)

Another way to calculate the correct size for your QR code is to follow the scanning distance to QR code size ratio, which is equal to 10:1. If, for example, the scanning distance between a smartphone and the necessary QR code is 20 cm, the QR code must be at least 2cm wide. Not following this ratio may make scanning or recognizing the code difficult.

Check out our QR code scanning tips and perform test scans with your smartphone before mass production to ensure the correct sizing has been applied and the code’s readability is not compromised.
